Pray

It's invaluable to be prayerfully anticipating this trip!  When we get there, I promise you'll wish you had prayed more before setting out.  Following are some topics and scripture to help get you going! 

 

If you've never prayed using scripture before, now is the time to start!  Remind God of His promises and pray for them to be specifically applied to this trip!  Moses did it, so can you.

 

Isaiah 55:11//So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

 

Pray for our team

We need to be focused on our goal (salvations) and working as a team without any silly in-fighting or hard feelings toward one another.  We need strength and endurance to work hard in a different climate, with a different diet, with high stakes, and in love.

 

Acts 4:29-30//Now, Lord ... grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.

 

Col 2:2a//... that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love ...

 

Heb 12:1-2a//Therefore we also ... let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith ...

 

Phil 2:14//Do all things without complaining and disputing,

 

Pray for the people we will meet

Pray for open hearts, open eyes, and open ears.  Pray that they'll like us.  Pray that before we meet them the Holy Spirit would begin to awaken a desire in their hearts for more, and convict them of their need of a Savior.

 

Eph 1:17-18a//... that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlighted; that you may know what is the hope of His calling ...

 

Matt 11:15//He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

 

Pray for the local churches

They're going to need wisdom and resources to shepherd all the new believers we are going to leave behind.  They will also need pure hearts and a continuing evangelistic spirit.

 

James 1:5//If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

 

Jeremiah 3:15//And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.
